Great turn-out for Family Dodgeball Festival

Tuesday 10th November saw the first ever Plympton and Tor Bridge Family Dodgeball Festival.   Over seventy children turned up at Hele’s School for an afternoon designed to be a fun and active session, giving children the opportunity to learn a different sport.  The event, which had been organised by Miss Crowther and Mrs Pullyblank, both PE specialists, commented “this was a great opportunity for all the children to experience a new activity and to learn about staying healthy and active”’  The school were also lucky enough to have Chris Harper pop along, Chris is a Scottish International Dodgeball player.  He introduced the sport to the young enthusiasts and showed them just how fast and exciting dodgeball can be.

Young Ambassadoers and Leaders from Hele’s School helped to set up and supervise the Festival, they also refereed all of the games – no easy task with over seventy children taking part!

Mrs Pullyblank and Miss Crowther said “this was such a huge success, we are certainly looking forward to running this event next year”.
