Latest News

To build on the amazing ‘Make Your Mark’ figures of 9,329 voters, for this year’s UKYP candidate elections Plymouth City Council have decided to return back to the paper ballot voting. The scheme was officially launched this week, commencing 23rd January 2016. Make sure you go to the library to vote this week.

There are a range of candidates from a variety of schools across the city; Daniel Michaels is the Hele’s candidate.

Hello, I’m Daniel Michaels, a student at Hele’s School. My campaign focuses on mental health and improving the standard of support across Plymouth. One in four people will experience mental health issues at some point throughout this year alone; furthermore, a lot of these people simply cannot be seen by already-existing mental health services, as they simply cannot see everyone they need to. Vote for me and I will do all in my power to ensure that there is better support in schools, and as a result shorten the time people are on a waiting list to access mental health services – to get everyone’s problems solved when needed and to get everyone’s voices heard
