Dear Year 9 Pupils and Parents,

The CCF Open Evening will take place on Thursday 19th March from 1700 to 1900. Year 9 pupils who are considering joining the CCF are invited to attend together with their parents. The purpose of the evening is to enable you to see what the CCF has to offer, and to experience a taste of the training involved, to help make the decision whether to join us each Thursday after school for this entirely voluntary activity.

The presentation will start in the Lecture Theatre at 1700 with an introduction to the CCF, its aims and opportunities. I will also outline the standards and responsibilities that we expect of the cadets in Hele’s School CCF. The contingent has a very high reputation amongst the cadet authorities and all cadets are expected to contribute to the maintenance of this reputation. Following this, you will be invited to move to the Main Hall to see some of the training equipment and activities, and to talk to cadets and officers.

We very much welcome this opportunity and I hope that you will be able to attend.

Copies of this letter with a return slip are available from the green folder on the CCF notice board in the underpass.

Yours sincerely,

Cdr. P. J. Glasspoole
