Hele's School

Hele's School A great place to learn. A great place to grow.

Wellbeing

Student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that students can not be good learners if they are struggling with how they are feeling. We also recognise that being a teenager is not always easy, and we seek to support and signpost our students in a variety of ways, including:

  • Generic and bespoke pastoral support
  • School counselling
  • Referral to the school nursing service
  • Participation in national surveys and evaluations
  • Peer support
  • CAMHS referral
  • EHAT assessments with families
  • Individual reintegration programmes
  • Delivery of emotional health and wellbeing resources through the tutor and personal development programme
  • Recognition that some students will need adaptations to support them with school life
  • Enhanced transition
  • Multi-agency planning
  • Support from SHARP — substance misuse agency
  • Behaviour mentoring
  • Motivational coaching through Plymouth Argyle
  • Positive promotion of extra-curricular for all
  • Promotion of Kooth 24/7 online counselling
  • Tell Us Now inbox

We are always keen to extend our provision, so please do get in touch if you feel there is anything additional we can provide.

CAMHS Community Team Duty Advice line for Families and Professionals has extended its opening hours in response to COVID-19. The phone line is now open Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm. Please contact the team on 01752 431613 to seek advice, discuss whether a referral to CAMHS may be appropriate and access support for families who are currently awaiting input from the CAMHS Community Team.

Mental Health Support Team

Livewell Southwest has successfully secured funding to establish a Mental Health Support Team. This is a pilot scheme with identified schools to evaluate the effectiveness of school based interventions to support children, young people, families, and professionals to promote emotional health and wellbeing.

The team will be offering a range of support including working with anxiety, low mood, behavioural concerns, peer mentoring and parenting interventions.

Requests for training and consultation can be made directly to the team.
