The Sounds of Summer
The Sounds of Summer
By Anya Cann
Summer is just around the corner, so I think it’s time we get preparing! I’d like to share with you my experience with music and how it can make you feel good during the summer, or just in general. Plus, there’s a feel-good playlist I made especially for you to vibe to in these hot months at the end.
Music has been a part of my life ever since I could talk. My parents would always turn up the tunes when there was a decent song playing, and I had lots of band t-shirts (at that age, I didn’t know what bands they were, but you get the point!) I grew up with music from lots of different genres, mostly rock and some 80s pop. And to this day, I think that from listening to music at such a young age has influenced me to who I am today. It’s such a big part of my life. Spotify is always on or the radio blasting a bit too loudly, hand continuously tapping a beat. Whenever I’m having a hard day, whether it be from school or just in general, I’ll turn on something and after a few minutes my mind relaxes, and it 100% makes me calmer. In fact, studies have shown that music can lighten your mood and even improve your sleep.
But this is just my story, and it’s not going to be the same for everyone. I hope that everybody will find a song or playlist that they could jam along to just like I can, because it really does lift your mood. And hey, maybe this playlist I made for the summer could be the one! This list of songs contains music from all different kinds of genres, from the sixties to present day. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’d suggest you take a look!
