Year 9 Careers Day Letter

Dear Parents /Carers

Year 9 Careers Day: Wednesday 9th October 2019

Hele’s is committed to providing an effective careers education programme that prepares students for the next steps in their education, training or employment. The school is focused on raising career aspirations, ensuring that students gain stimulating and inspiring information about a wide range of career pathways directly from employers, apprenticeship providers and further/higher education providers. The Year 9 Careers Day is a key event in enabling students to engage in their own careers journey and experience the variety of opportunities that that are available to them.

Students will participate in workshops on:

  • Apprenticeships ranging from Level 2 to degree Level
  • Options for study beyond Year 11
  • The importance of STEM based subjects
  • University study
  • The role of Trade Unions within the world of work
  • Using IT software to research careers

Careers education, information advice and guidance (CEIAG) makes a significant contribution in preparing young people for the world of work and the choices they will have to make in the coming years. We are always looking for employers to engage with our students so that we can deliver a valuable careers provision.  Please contact School if you or your organisation can support in any way; we’d be most pleased to enlist your support.

Thank you for your ongoing support with the CEIAG that we offer to the students.

Yours sincerely

Kairn Stone

Assistant Principal
