Hele's School

Hele's School A great place to learn. A great place to grow.

Message to Parents and Carers 12/12/22

Please be advised that school remains open and it is expected that all students attend as normal, unless they are ill.

Good morning,

Please be advised that school remains open and it is expected that all students attend as normal, unless they are ill.  All boilers are firing on full cylinders and the heating throughout the premises is working fine.  The school site was fully cleared first thing this morning and all play areas and social spaces are clear of ice and are safe to use.  All main roads are clear after being gritted overnight and the roads around school – Seymour Road, Larkham Lane and Plymouth Road, for instance – remain clear.

Your support in ensuring your child is suitably dressed for school is much appreciated.  Please do ensure your child wears a coat to school, as this week is set to be particularly cold.  They may, of course, also wear a hat, scarf and gloves to school and during social time, but they will be expected to take this off and store it in their bag during lessons.  A reminder that students can wear a plain black v neck jumper under their blazer if they wish.  If a student has no school jumper then they may wish to wear a thin layer beneath their shirt – this should ideally be light in colour and may be a t-shirt, an underlayer or a vest.

Whilst it is anticipated that we will not have to close the school this last week of term, we will continue to keep a close watch on the local weather forecast and continue the dynamic risk assessment of the school site.  Any updates will be provided to families via email, as well as posted on the school website and our Hele’s School social media platforms (FaceBook and Twitter).

Unless there is communication shared otherwise, we look forward to seeing all our young people and staff in school this week to conclude a busy but successful term together.  Thank you for your ongoing support of Hele’s School.

Kind regards,

Justine Mason

Principal
