Supporting Your Child with GCSE Drama Revision (Eduqas)
As your child prepares for their Eduqas GCSE Drama exam, your support at home can make a real difference. Drama revision isn’t just about learning facts – it combines practical understanding, written analysis, and knowledge of key plays and live theatre. By encouraging focused revision and providing opportunities to discuss ideas, you can help your son/daughter feel more confident in applying their skills and preparing effectively for the written paper.
One of the best ways you can support your child with their Drama revision is by helping them strengthen their understanding of key Drama terminology, which is essential for the written exam. A simple way to do this is by encouraging them to regularly complete the short quizzes available on Microsoft Teams. These quizzes are designed to boost their memory and recall of the subject-specific vocabulary, which they will need to confidently explain and evaluate ideas in their exam.

2. Lighting quiz: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/qwn6GswQHj
3. Costume quiz: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/2i0dqgcw1c
4. Movement, Voice and interaction quiz: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/ARr5D7evS2
Another way to help is by encouraging your child to familiarise themselves with top-band examples of exam answers. These showcase what a Level 9 response looks like in the written paper and help students see how to structure their work, use drama terminology effectively, and link their ideas clearly to the question. Reading and discussing these model answers can give your child a clear picture of the standard they are aiming for.

Finally, working through past papers is an excellent way for students to understand the demands of the full exam. Past papers show the sequence and style of questions, helping students become familiar with the format and expectations. They also give ample opportunity to practise under timed conditions, which builds confidence and improves exam technique.
