Commissioned by the Careers & Enterprise Company, this national network connects schools and colleges with employers and careers programme providers and supports them to work together to provide young people with effective and high-quality encounters with the world of work. 

The network is made up of Enterprise Coordinators who are trained professionals working with clusters of 20 schools and colleges to build careers plans and make connections to local and national employers.   

Enterprise Advisers use their knowledge of the local business landscape to support the headteacher or careers team to develop an effective careers plan and to create opportunities with their business contacts in the area for their school or college’s students. 

Introducing our Enterprise Advisor:

My name is Darren Jones I am the Enterprise Advisor linked with Hele’s School. My role is to work directly with the senior leadership teams in schools and colleges to develop effective careers and enterprise plans and enable more encounters for young people. 

I work for EE as an Operations Manager within the Call Centre based in Langage providing Customer Service for Mobile and Broadband consumers. I have previous experience working in retail. I started working in the Call Centre in 2002 as a Customer Service Advisor and have had different roles in the 17 years. My day to day activities include managing 120 employees to deal with inbound/outbound service calls to resolve Technical queries raised by Broadband customers. 

I am passionate about supporting the local community especially the young people. I have been volunteering as a School Governor at Yealmpstone Farm Primary School for over 10 years and I am a Director of Bright Stars Nursery based within the school. 

I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge of recruitment and transferable skills with all the students and my focus is to provide support for the leadership team to raise the profile of Careers within the school which will include attending the Careers Fair.
